The Jacksonville Dixie Blues are entering their twelfth season in women's tackle football. They have enjoyed a successful past and look forward to an exciting future. During the inaugural season in 2001, the Dixie Blues won the Atlantic Coast Conference and advanced to the first annual World Bowl in San Diego, California, where they fell to the California Quake, a veteran team from Los Angeles.

The Dixie Blues' second season was just as exciting, and even more successful than the first. The Dixie Blues over-powered the Atlantic Coast Conference winning all but one of its games. Again, the Dixie Blues advanced to the World Bowl, this time in Birmingham, Alabama. There, the Dixie Blues crushed the Indianapolis Vipers 68-20 and were crowned the 2002-2003 National Champions.

The Dixie Blues joined the Independent Women's Football League (IWFL) during its third and fourth seasons. After playing through the 2004 season as an exhibition team with no playoff opportunities, the Dixie Blues played the Atlanta Xplosion in the first round of the 2005 playoffs.

We were excited to enter the fifth season in the Women's Football League (WFL) to continue a tradition of excellence. The teams we were facing included, Tennessee Heat, Kentucky Force, and The Mississippi Rapids. We remained undefeated during 2006 and went on to become the 2006 Superior Bowl Champions!

We began our 2007 season with a strong start as well. The Dixie Blues again dominated the WFL winning all regular season games, and again, won the 2007 Superior Bowl.

The Dixie Blues, after sitting out a season due to scheduling conflicts from a previous league, were eager to start 2009, after joining the Women's Football Alliance. The team appeared hungry to play after sitting out a season. The Blues went undefeated during the regular season, dominating Region III in the WFA. They advanced two rounds in the playoffs and lost to the St. Louis Slam, just one game shy of the national championship.

The Blues were ready to redeem themselves in 2012. The Blues added to their extensive talent picking up several rookies and for the first time, adding a practice squad. Making it all the way to the third round of playoffs against the Chicago Force in the windy city, the Blues fell short.



With three set tryout dates, the addition of Head Coach Aaron Bass and some other assistant coaches as well as new management, the Dixie Blues are looking to pick up more great talent and try to take it all the way to the championship in 2013. They are looking to better their record this year by again taking on a competitive Region III.
